Is a D GPA Good?

A D GPA is a full two grades under the national average, which is a B. A D GPA isn’t good—it shows you’re barely getting by. You’ll need to work hard if you want to advance in your education.

For high school students

With a D GPA, you won’t be eligible to apply to a four-year college or university. You might consider entering the job market.

For college students

You’re probably on academic probation if your GPA is a D. If you don’t pull up your GPA soon, you’ll be dismissed from your school.

How Can I Raise My GPA?

You need to make big changes to pull up a D GPA. Take your studies seriously, and stay organized.

  • Find gaps in your schedule that will allow you to study.

  • Thoroughly complete all work, and turn it in on time.

  • Minimize outside distractions until you get your grades under control.
