Is a B- GPA Good?
A B- GPA is just barely under the national average of a B GPA. In terms of being a good or bad GPA, a B- is nothing special. However, it won’t take much to bump your GPA up to an above average grade.
For high school students
Most college recruiters won’t be impressed by a B- GPA, so as you work to raise your GPA, make sure to give adequate attention to extracurricular activities, as well.
For college students
At this point in school, graduate programs and employers are more concerned with the quality of work you’re capable of. A B- GPA is sufficient to enter a graduate program, but make sure you’re building a portfolio of work that showcases your skills.
How Can I Raise My GPA?
Progress on your GPA will come incrementally, not all at once. Stay the course and study hard.
Find a friend who is doing well in class and work to complete assignments with them.
Inform your instructors of your goal to raise your GPA, and ask what you can do to perform better on assignments and tests.
Stay organized to complete work in a timely manner and give yourself ample time to study for tests.
